I agree with the reviewer below, I have used these with great success on Shimano XTR chains. I always carry an extra one in my tool kit when riding, it's saved me from walking a number of times. I think the Sram chains stretch too much but I like their links!
Product Used For: 2 or More Years
My Bike:XTR and Dura-Ace chains

I have used these gold links with Shimano 7700/1 chains for years. I have never had a failure and it makes cleaning a snap. I replace the middle ring, cassette and two chains with Sram power links at the same time. I rotate the chain every 100 miles or so, letting the dirty one soak in citrus solvent. The whole drive train lasts longer and when both chains are stretched out, I replace the cassette, chains and middle ring again.
Product Used For: 2 or More Years
Product Strengths:compatible with Shimano chains. I have never had a failure.
Product Weaknesses:none known
My Bike:Specialized Epic S-works with XTR, Trek XO-1 Cross Dura-Ace/XT, Trek 5900SL Road Dura-Ace 10.

I've taken these through some pretty sketchy runs, but there has not been one time I was concerned about it. These are darn near good enough to make a whole chain out of (har-har).
Product Used For: 6 Months
Product Strengths:Amazingly simple to use.
Product Weaknesses:I've yet to find one. It seems like it would want to come apart, but somehow it stays glued together perfectly.
My Bike:Tricked out Hardrock: Saint cranks, x7/x9 shifting, Mavic 729 + White Ind wheelset, Diabolus bars/stem/seatpost

I have used SRAM chains for more than 5 years and I don't know whay anyone would buy anything else. The chains are simple to install, lightweight and the powerlink gold makes for easy drivetrain maintenance. Nothing beats it.
I concur with the other reviewer who stated that it will work with Shimano chains. I have always carried a spare powerlink and most recently a friend of mine had his chain drop between cassette and spokes in a way I have never seen before. Required breaking the shimano chain - not at the master link - and installing my spare. It worked and he didn't have to walk. He has since used the bike on a few rides with no flaws while he awaits his new drive components - including a SRAM chain.
Product Used For: 2 or More Years
Product Strengths:Stronger than almost all other links in the chain. If your chain fails with one of these installed, this link will most certainly not be the reason.
Product Weaknesses:That I don't have enough of them.
My Bike:Ventana Pantera, Marz MX Pro ETA, Easton****pit, XT shifters, derailleurs, cassette, SRAM PC-99 Hollow Pin w/ Powerlink.

Contrary to SRAM's statement of compatibility with their own chains only, I (and others that I know) have successfully used this as a link w/ Shimano chains. No issues.
If you want to use Shimano chains, forget that packet of pins and pick one of these up.
Product Used For: 1 Year
Product Strengths:Ease of maintence for complete chain cleaning
My Bike:Shimano Dura-Ace/XTR Chain
